1. You Must Be at Least 13

You must be at least 13 years old to use MemeDome. Users aged 13–17 need parental consent. Some features (prize battles, referral payouts) require you to be 18+.

2. You Own Your Content — We Licence It to Run the Platform

You keep full ownership of every meme, photo, caption, and comment you post. By uploading content you give MemeDome a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, and promote it for the purposes of running and promoting the platform. We will never sell your content to a third party.

You can revoke this licence by deleting your content or your account (subject to our 30-day backup retention and any active legal holds — see Terms §7).

3. You Warrant You Have the Rights to Upload

When you upload a photo or meme you confirm that:

• You created it, or you have the necessary rights, licences, and consents to share it;
• It does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or privacy rights;
• Any person visibly depicted in your content has consented to being shared publicly, or such use is lawful;
• It is not stolen, hacked, or obtained without authorisation;
• If it features AI-generated imagery, it does not impersonate a real person or fabricate real events to deceive.

Uploading content you don't have the rights to may result in content removal, account termination, and potential legal liability.

4. Prohibited Content

You may not post:

• Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting people based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, or other protected characteristics;
• Harassment, bullying, doxxing, or coordinated campaigns against individuals;
• Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn") or child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
• Graphic violence, gore, or content promoting self-harm or suicide;
• Misinformation designed to deceive or cause real-world harm;
• Spam, scam links, phishing, or malware;
• Copyright-infringing content you do not have the rights to share.

5. Takedown & Moderation

MemeDome may remove, restrict, or shadow any content that violates these rules — with or without prior notice. For copyright takedown requests, email dmca@memedome.com. See our DMCA Policy.

6. Content Archiving

Deleting content removes it from public view immediately, but copies may remain in automated backups for up to 30 days, or longer if required by a legal hold. We are not obligated to remove reshares of your deleted content made by other users.

7. Resharing & Attribution

When you reshare another user's content, you confirm you have the right to do so. Attribution is encouraged. Do not remove watermarks or credits added by the original creator. Resharing does not imply MemeDome's endorsement.

8. Advertising

MemeDome is ad-supported. We use Ezoic to serve ads. Ezoic and its demand partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show you relevant ads. You can opt out of targeted advertising via our cookie preferences. We never share your name, email, or memes with advertisers. See Terms §13 for full details.

9. Privacy & Data

MemeDome collects your email, username, and usage data to operate the platform. We do not sell your personal data. See our full Privacy Policy. To request deletion or export of your data, use our Data Request form.

10. Account Termination

MemeDome can suspend or permanently ban accounts for repeated or serious violations. You can appeal within 14 days by emailing appeals@memedome.com. You may also close your own account via Settings at any time.

11. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Kenyan law. Disputes should first be raised informally with us at support@memedome.com. If unresolved, disputes are subject to binding arbitration — not class-action lawsuits. EU/UK users retain their mandatory consumer protection rights. See Terms §20–21.

12. Liability

MemeDome is provided "as is." We are not liable for damages caused by user-generated content or platform downtime. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is capped at USD $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify MemeDome against claims arising from your content, conduct, or violation of these Terms.

13. Updates to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes via a platform banner, push notification, or email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
